About Us

At the University of Washington, it is important to actively seek out smaller communities where you can find truly good friends. At LXA we seek to provide this, while simultaneously preparing you for leadership in your life after college.

LXA has enjoyed a presence on the picturesque Seattle campus for over a century, enrolling more than 2200 members, which positions us as one of the largest and most established fraternities on campus. Throughout our long history, we have consistently contributed to our community. During World War I, we accommodated army recruits, and today we continue to give back through our national collaboration with Feeding America, a nonprofit organization dedicated to feeding over 46 million individuals through food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters, including local establishments in Seattle.

More information regarding Fraternal Life can be found on the UW IFC Website or on our National Fraternity Page. If you are interested in becoming a member, use the Recruitment page to contact one of our Recruitment officers.

We are a strongly values-based organization. If you want to know more about our Ideals and Values, click here!

Why Lambda Chi?

“What I learned from this house was that it’s important to surround yourself with people of different backgrounds, experiences, opinions, and ideological viewpoints. Adding diversity to my life to the kind of people I interacted with and befriended has majorly contributed to the growth of my character.”
— Arlen Eichler, ΑΨ 2174, Communications
“I will always cherish the day-to-day interactions with the brotherhood and being able to support those who need it.”
— Clark McGoogan, AΨ 2165, Global Studies
“One thing I’ve learned in my time at Lambda is how to have a good time no matter what’s going on in the background of everyone’s lives.”
— Colby King, AΨ 2187, Mechanical Engineering
Joining Lambda Chi Alpha was easily one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. With endless academic resources, exciting social events and philanthropy, and many brothers I consider my second family, I can’t imagine spending my college years any other way. Living in the chapter house the past four years has truly shown me that this is indeed a brotherhood for life.”
— Fran Đukić, ΑΨ 2128, Informatics
My decision to join Lambda Chi Alpha at the UW many years ago was one of the two most life-altering and best decisions of my life. The values taught in it’s incredible Ritual, my immediate involvement as an Associate Member, (there are no pledges), the attainment of life goals, and the lifelong friendships that I made have been central to my life ever since. I am reminded daily of my good fortune.
